Ok, by this I mean a REAL relationship. Not one in which you went out with the same person for 2 weeks and decided you wouldn’t date anymore because you don’t share the same taste in movies…

Hollywood movies/tv series almost always show women curled up in the fetal position, going through a 10 year supply of Kleenex in one day and being in a word, destroyed, after a break-up. But what about the man? They seem dissapointed but unphased by the change. Is this true in real life? Yes, they would jump into bed with anything that breathes… but they never really get over their ex do they? They make life changing decisions based on the reasons of the break-up. They judge their current girlfriends based on what has happened to them in the past. How do they get over it?

I really only appreciate time when I’ve run out of it. My last few days before starting work seem to be going by oh so fast. But when I had no work to dread… it seemed to me that time didn’t move at all.

It’s the stock market crash and the midnight snack,

The quiet in your mind that you can never get back.

It’s the bird in the hand or two in the bush,

The choice that you made with that subconscious push.

It’s the tear streaked face hidden by the dark,

The mental scarring that never leaves a mark.

It’s the deafening unending ticking of the clock,

The tear in your soul that comes as a shock.

It’s this that I find I’m unable to face,

This cruel, beguilingly wonderful place.
